St. George Roadrunners

The St. George Roadrunners were a Utah-based independent minor league baseball team that scrapped and clawed its way through four seasons in the Golden Baseball League between 2007 and 2010. The Roadrunners were the second independent league club to try to make a go of it at Bruce Hurst Field on the campus of Dixie State College. The Zion Pioneerzz/St. George Pioneerzz of the Western Baseball League at the 2,500-seat ballpark from 1999 to 2001.

The Surprise Fightin’ Falcons were a One-Year Wonder that played during the inaugural season of the Golden Baseball League. The GBL was an independent league that began play with seven teams in California and Arizona during the summer of 2005. The Fightin’ Falcons played at Surprise Stadium, the recently constructed spring training home of the Kansas City Royals and Texas Rangers. After completing the 2005 season with a 45-45 record, the GBL dropped the Surprise club from the league’s membership.
