The Philadelphia Kixx were a long-running indoor soccer team that enjoyed strong popularity in the City of Brotherly Love for a few years during the late 1990’s. The Kixx won two league championships during their fourteen-year run, capturing Major Indoor Soccer League titles in 2002 and 2007.
The Philadelphia Bulldogs were a professional roller hockey promotion that played three summer seasons at the Spectrum from 1994 to 1996. The team initially generated some publicity due to the celebrity involvement of sitcom star Tony Danza in the team’s ownership group and Philadelphia Flyers legend Dave Schultz in the front office. The Bulldogs closed their doors following the 1996 season and their league, Roller Hockey International, played its final game in 1999.
